House Crush N°45—Dutch Colonial

Sea Island House Crush
I want to come home to this gate and brick drive.

Pickets, lions and green hedges welcome guests to this charming ocean cottage. Through the gates and down a brick drive an allée of crepe myrtle leads past a cluster of inviting out buildings. My imagination envisions them as guest houses, artist studios, even grown up get-a-ways for mom and dad—you choose your favorite. An arched door flanked by boxwood is the entry visible from the drive, but the house is situated to the right of the drive and sits majestically on a corner ocean lot—yes, please! I love the roof angles, stucco, brick, shutter details, railings, porches, arched doors…the list is never ending with this home. It has a Dutch Colonial feel to me—and that ocean view makes me want to move right in. Dinner is at 8:00—and don’t be late!
