5 Second Cottage update

Mirror Lake Cottage
The outside is looking great! The front porch will be screened in—I have a bug thing.

If I told you everything I have done this week you would need a vacation… and a margarita! This amazingly productive week makes my head spin and my heart sing. I have worked  on my house, the cottage in Highlands, the blog, crazy technology—oh, and prepared for a hurricane! Rooms have been painted, stones laid, deliveries arranged, tile ordered, gardens planned, furniture bought and moved, photos edited, porches cleared—etc, etc, etc. Wow! Mr. P has been on a golfing vacation in Ireland and I have worked at lighting speed to get things finished. How? With my new secret weapon—Mel Robbins and ‘The 5 Second Rule.I am up at 6:00am (aiming for a 5:ish something) and tackling the day. Have a look at what has happened at the cottage.

1930's Highlands cottage
The ceiling height is totally unexpected in a 1930’s house.

The closet was flipped from the dining room to the bedroom—same chestnut door.

We added a 6’x8′ covered porch to one of the bedrooms. I love the rhododendrons on this property.

The new bathroom door was moved from the hall to the bedroom—same one with the porch.

The hall entry was doubled in size. You can just see the loft on the right.

The new deck has been added—no more slippery slime.

The landscaping is going great with the addition of the locust arbor.

We planted climbing New Dawn roses on the arbor.

I love the handrail that we added!

I used the same low locust rail fence that I used on the Cashiers house.
