House Crush N° 42-Madison

white house
House Crush!

Today’s House Crush is the most amazing fixer-upper challenge I have ever seen. This lovely four-story Victorian started life as a 70s ranch house—yes, an ugly fake stone and diagonal board covered 70s classic. Boxwoods owners Randy Korando and Dan Belman purchased the house and land near Madison, Georgia and took it to the next level—Heaven. Old windows, doors, shutters and architectural salvage brought their vision to life—it has been Randy-ized. His brain sees things no one else can envision and brings them to life. Trust me, you will love it.

Take a tour with me and I will point out a few amazing transformations along the way. Grab a cup of coffee and find a comfy chair—this home will let you ‘escape’ for a while.

White Victrian farm house
What an amazing side entry.

camp Madison Georgia
Welcome to Camp Boxwoods!

garage renovation
The entry and living room are where the former garage was!

salvage in architecture
All of the built-ins are actually old furniture painted white—the framed pictures were just old paintings surrounded by architectural salvage.

homemade built ins.
The ‘bookcases’ are all handcrafted and painted white.

build your won house. save money
The new dining room is the former living room-doors and windows are all old.

round porch
This round porch off the dining room was salvaged from an old church—love that ceiling color.

entry garden design
And this is the view from the porch.

camp Madison Georgia
The entry garden view—lovely!

build with old salvage
All of the porch detail is architectural salvage, too.

niche details
This niche was made by cutting an old phonograph in half!

black forest mirror
A little Black Forest is always a good idea.

use what you have
The kitchen entry to the garden is the most wonderful shade of aqua and has a salvaged brick floor.

dog bowl fountain
Even the water bowl for the dogs is ingenious.

stair case
This massive stair case carries you up three floors!

fireplace in the dining room
This fireplace is now in the dining room.

mirror on the porch
This beautiful mirror is located on the screened porch-sorry lighting was challenging.

antique doors
I think I need a door like this—how about you? Notice the small trim on the side of the door.

white Victorian horse barn
And if the house wasn’t enough of a crush this horse barn is a crush all by itself!
