Green is my new favorite color! Last weekend, we planted our new garden on top of the new retaining wall off the porch addition.
We filled the area in with great soil and amendments because we wanted a flat gardening area near the porch—flat is not a word we use much up here.
Friday, we dug holes and Saturday we edged the garden beds, put the plants in and installed the sod!
I used the antique garden tiles from the Atlanta house that I removed before we even put the house on the market—they have been to three ‘new’ homes now.
We used boxwood to give structure to the area and we added hydrangeas to soften the wall. We will also add climbing roses later along with a couple of benches on the grassy lawn.We plan to install a fountain in the middle of the grassy area in the near future. (Mr. P loves a great water feature.)
Have a look at the progress so far … more updates later.
