And the Winner is…

welcoming front porch
Welcome to the dinner—I love the hydrangea.

The winner is the lucky bidder who purchased the dinner hosted by James Farmer and Francie Hargrove at The Church of the Good Shepard auction here in Cashiers. Every year the church hosts a silent auction, live auction and a Bazaar to benefit the Outreach Ministry that helps the local area.

The live auction always has a mix of fabulous vacations homes located in amazing destinations and dinner parties for 8-20 people. The parties are hosted in these homes with an amazing mix of chefs, authors, designers and other talented people.

This year’s auction item that drew heavy bidding was the dinner prepared by author James Farmer and hosted at the home of Francie Hargrove. James used recipes from his books to prepare a delicious range of dishes. He has another talent—that of putting everyone at ease with his story telling. Francie is the hostess with the ‘mostess.’ The combination of the two ‘energies’ made for a fun, fabulous evening.

I was invited to take photos of the setting before the party began. We laughed, cooked, organized, talked and even enjoyed a glass of champagne together—I never refuse a glass of champagne! Knowing what fun the preparation was, I can imagine the party was a smashing success.

Have a look at the party set-up and look for Francie’s house to be featured on the next house crush!
