Organizing Emergency…

organizing emergency
Loving these organized drawers—and the kitchen towels from the Dollar Store! Thank you Martha Stewart for the info!

Remember my organizing emergency from last week—it is under control! I have been an organizing machine. My house is finally looking like someone lives here—not like my storage unit exploded.

I have been using Marie Kondo’s book about tiding up…well, kind of. I have been taking things to their new home in the West Wing as I find them so, really I am doing several rooms at one time. The job takes a little longer this way, but rewards me with a much more efficient home. It looks sooo much better! I made an extra trip to the dump and will be making more donations soon.

Also, I don’t talk to my things like Marie does—I just save, trash or donate. Have a little sneak-peak at my progress.

Everything is ready for duty.

I love the graduated bowls and strainers right next to the kitchen sink.

Here is my baking drawer just under the marble counter—perfect for rolling things out.

And all of the supplies are in the drawer below—oops, a chocolate problem.

I even organized the olive oils and vinegars.

The apple pie pans and are ready for action.

The tea drawer still looks great.

This drawer stores the left-over and Freezer containers.

Even the overflow spice drawer was cleared.

The new pantry is coming along great.

organizing pantry
I am organizing the pantry by color—didn’t realize I had so much green.

kitchen napkins
The top two drawers are for extra napkins.

I love these ‘P’ napkins.

I was inspired by Bunny Williams table cloth closet.

This side is storage for china and appliances.

Now all of those appliances that clutter the counters have a new home.

Lissy, love the baking drawer! The only chocolate problem is when there isn’t any. You may have to join TeaAnon ?? so happy to see the wood grain China in the pantry!

  2. I have storage problems very similar to yours. Where did you get the wooden dividers? I have as much tea as you do!

  3. I use those dividers too Lissy. They really corral things nicely. Listen girl that pantry is the bomb well done! And can I just say I love, love, love your mountain house. You couldn’t be living in a more beautiful area of the country there in Highland – Cashiers is definitely “heaven on earth” IMO!
