Citrus fruit is high on my list of things to add to my winter healthy eating guide. This beautiful, juicy fruit was a Christmas gift to us from my brother-in-law in Savannah, Georgia. It is all organic and grown in his amazing garden—right next to the chicken coupe. Yes, he has a chicken coupe in the city of Savannah … doesn’t everyone?
When we peeled the first blood orange and saw the amazing color we were hooked. The fruit is so juicy and delicious you will have to figure out how to grow a few trees in your own garden. Just think how happy your family and neighbors will be when they see you headed toward their house with a basket of fruit in your hands.
Note to self … now I know I need an Orangerie!

Looks tantalizing! As the owner of a marble and granite company in Atlanta and Sapphire, I wanted to comment about citric acid on your beautiful marble–especially lemon. I’m sure you didn’t leave it there long :), but, if left overnight, it will etch the finish right off and you will have honed marble in that spot!
Margaret, Thank you for your concern about my counters. They are already honed marble—I love that worn look.
