Welcome to the main house. The Garden surrounding the house is still very English in arrangement, but the house is all North Carolina. A large circle drive leads you to a rose-filled courtyard and small gravel and stone path. My favorite shapes for houses have ‘H” or ‘I’ floor plans (sorry for the sans serif capital “I” which doesn’t quite illustrate the concept). The outside is composed of several older log buildings that are connected by a two-story library in the middle. Maybe someday we can tour the inside!

So lovely and charming! And just wondering – What kind of roof do you have?
Melissa, I have an architectural shingle now, but will change to a cedar shake when I need a new roof on this house.
I am thinking about a tin roof for the new garage—love the ‘added over time’ look.
