Before and After—Cashiers

Cashiers before
Before–the infamous stone fan entry.

Let’s start off with a bang— this house was ugly! I feature the entry and living room in this post. We took it down to the studs! We removed all the fake stone and the dark wood ceilings. The color was baby pooh orange with side gold plastic shower door windows with gold and silver branches, fake ivy and grapes nailed and glued to the walls in every room! We are talking ugly here. The best feature of the entry was the stone patio that we matched and enlarged.

Our original idea was to remodel and sell this home until…I discovered the neighborhood. We can visit a golf course, a lake, a ski slope, a pool and the most charming camp in the world, all using a golf buggy. Mr. P said he can go to five restaurants and two pubs all in the golf cart (or the new mule)—how great is that! I am posting this renovation again because many of you may have missed this one. Let’s take a look at the entry and living room today. Happy house touring—and welcome to my home.

Tall antique doors were added by CK Swan to flank the entry.

A Dutch door with side lights replaced the solid angled doors and the gold plastic side lights.

After- Cashiers
We have replace the three fake stone arches with a cased opening.
After- Cashiers
New French doors replaced the old extra-large sliders.
After- Cashiers
Now we have a real fireplace instead of a fake insert.
After- Cashiers
Love this door and the painted floors.
After- Cashiers
The entry has three separate areas now.
After- Cashiers
This little area is just off the kitchen and the half bath.
No more stone ceiling or door surround
Cashiers before
Nothing was behind all of that stone!
