Project—New Floors!

New LR floors
Yep…this is the real deal.

Who decides to install new flooring during a pandemic…ahh, that would be me. It all started when we had wide plank Oak flooring left over from the new Highlands renovation. Yours truly, who is always in renovation mode, decided to use them in the Cashiers house. It seemed like a really great and easy idea. The floor man said on a Friday afternoon that he could start on Saturday morning—okay, let’s go for it. Here is what it really takes and add a week or two to whatever guideline they give you. My quarantine crew of three [me, Mr P, and a friend] got to work wrapping, packing and moving. We had this…or so we thought. The old 1st generation pre-finished floors came up, wide plank Oak went down and a natural satin finish topped them off…and Voila, we had new gorgeous light floors! It was worth it…We LOvE ThEm!

Out with the old floors.

This glue was horrible. We think they used 10,000 gallons of the stuff.

Covered all soft things to keep clean.

Janie and Gracie love them, too!
