How to Make a Vision Board

2023 vision board on my iphone
Inspiration every time I open my phone.

Do you make a vision board for the new year? I started one last year, but never completed it. This year I’m aiming high with my board and putting it on my phone as the wallpaper. I am a little late…but better late than never. That way whenever I open my phone I am inspired to make it happen. I’ve had a few days off—and that only means one thing—Inspiration is high, motivation is on overload and I’m raring to go again.  All of the images for your board should be things you envision in your life for the following year—think of them as long term goals you want to achieve.

Examples might include:

      —A huge career goal
—That perfect vacation spot or home you’ve been dreaming of
      — Finishing a home project just for you
      — A special purchase you would love to make
      — Health and fitness
      — That treehouse, greenhouse or pool you love
      — Fresh flowers always in the house

The list is whatever you want to achieve this year. If you happen not to make it this year—just add it to next year. This is your dream to make come true.

Now for a little fun…or hours of inspiration if you’re like me. Pinterest is your best friend for finding things you would love in your life. ‘Greenhouse’ —’treehouses’ —’St Simons Island’ —’Birkin bag’ —just a few of my latest searches. Find things that inspire, motivate and excite you and add them to your board. When you find ‘that’ photo, tap the top right ellipsis (…) and hit ‘Download Image.’ This saves a full size version to your phone’s camera roll. You should also press the big red button to ‘save’ the image to your board so you can find it later and because that photo inspired you, so pin it and show it some love.

Love this arrangement by Butter Wakefield.

To make the photo arrangement use Canva and just follow instructions—it’s Free. Or, you could just ask a tech savvy friend to help you load the photos in the arrangement you love. I used 11 images as my goals and arranged them the way they looked best for my phone. Have a look at my example for a little inspiration. I love having my inspiration motivating me every time I open my phone…and that’s a lot! Oh, two things are in the works right now—more on that later!
