Resolution—Make Things Beautiful!

Cashiers new stone walls
About 4 feet of crumbling bricks were take out.

Out with the old and in with the new! Time for a rethink and do-over. The rotten railroad tie walls collapsed and we are replacing them with stone walls to match the front entry garden. An old brick patio was sliding off the hill, too…easy to do around here. We also added gravel paths lined with stone and new planting beds for the lower patio. The whole area from the front drive to the back fire pit is going to be gorgeous soon. The lower garden was part moss, part grass and part hole in the ground…it is all being leveled and covered in sand and gravel. Boxwoods in Atlanta designed all of this a while ago. Randy Korando and Dan Cleveland had the vision—I just needed to wait for the right time. Now is the right time. The boxwood blight has hit us hard here in North Carolina…when it rains, it pours. Hollies are my new best friends—see you on Friday!
