Gate Crush—Sea island

Sea Island gates
Welcome to the Island

Gates are more than just entries to our homes or gardens. They capture our attention, tell a story, inspire and welcome family and friends to our homes. I love a good gate!

On a recent trip, I spotted so many great gates that I spent a whole day exploring and photographing them—grand iron entry gates, simple picket gates, Spanish gates, colorful gates and door gates. Gates play different roles in landscapes, as well. Sometimes they conceal the home or garden and provide privacy.

These glorious gates inspire me as I think about the privacy gate I need on the side garden. I already own a door that just might be my new Secret Garden entry just outside the new office.
