The Park—Clean-up has Started!

What a difference a day makes.

These lovely trees have sheltered my house from sun and wind since it was built. I don’t think is has been cleaned-up in decades. Thick brambles and dead trees filled the lot. Why am I telling you this…because we just bought it! It serves as a buffer for blustery winds in winter and cooling shade in the summer—a mountain house needs trees in the garden. We plan to make a park for the neighborhood and a playground a very special little boy. I see a playhouse, picnic tables, gravel paths, bridges and maybe a zip line.

The clean-up started when we were in Savannah and is still in the works. All of the small stuff and dead trees are on the way to the chipper and then the design process can begin. Randy Korando from Boxwoods in Atlanta is coming up to help with the plan. I can’t wait for the clean-up to end and the design work to start. It is kind of like demo day in construction—but without a dumpster. I will post updates soon…on the Highlands house, too.
