Those windows! I love all of the details that make this house stand out from its neighbors. The windows draw your eye up to the dormer and roof angles—love a high roof. Those chimney details are charming, too. Most of the homes in this area are Spanish or beach influenced…this home seems a cross between Dutch and South African.
I was drawn to this charming house last year when it was just newly finished. The landscaping was not in and it looked just a little sparse. The sloped wall and planter beds lead you to the welcoming entrance. A gravel drive lined with brick is a favorite of mine and arched garage doors with large iron rings are reminiscent of old carriage doors. The breezeway between the house and garage seems to lead to a back garden and maybe guest quarters over the garage—I think they have an ocean view. I am a huge fan of the wide shutters details over the garage and repeated on the house. They are both beautiful and functional for keeping the house cool. I can‘t wait to see what it looks like when the landscaping is finished and grown.
