House Crush N° 52—St. Simons Island

Cottage Crush No 1-St simons blue door
Blue and White is always a great choice.

Blue and white, gravel drive, stone steps, vine-covered arbor and white picket fence—this cottage is oozing charm. It took me days to catch just the right light and no car in front of this little charmer. These homeowners have worked overtime on curb appeal…and it’s across the street from the ocean!

The cheerful azure blue door is flanked by full-length gray shutters that are functional and striking. Symmetrical windows are calming and welcoming. An arbor, the perfect size to ‘surround’ the blue door, is covered in a dark evergreen vine and illuminated by the perfect lantern.

Don’t forget that white picket fence and gate. The double gate is punctuated with ‘x‘ sides that lead you in from the stone steps and gravel drive—Perfection!
