Here we go again! There is a sweet 1930s cottage in Highlands that I have always admired—all the charm you can imagine. The construction is wormy chestnut, locust logs, pine floors and a green tin roof. What’s not to love?
On a recent drive around Highlands we spotted a for sale sign in front of the cottage and quickly called our agents—it was already under contract! A few days later my agent at Highlands Properties called and said, “What are you doing today?”
“Laundry,” I replied. He told me to come to town ASAP because the buyers might withdraw the contract. Well, they did and we stepped in—how serendipitous is that! Now we are in the process of landscaping and decorating.
We want to use the cottage as a vacation rental available year round for people looking for that quaint historic Highlands charm. Here is a little sneak peek at our progress.
