The Dog Table

Irish table, fiddle leaf fig
I love this table and the fiddle leaf fig too.

Yes, you heard me right—I really do have a dog table.  I purchased the table from Francie Hargrove here in Cashiers.

The base of this unusual table features four carved puppies ready to play. I think the table could be Irish because of the large carved animals on the base. The column on the base is round along with the top.

We recently moved this table from the corner to the center of the room and discovered that the base is expandable along with the top—but sadly we don’t have the leaves to expand the table. I love the table in the center of the room! It acts to divide the space and allows for a focal point in the living room.

I realized that I had a small collection of ceramic and glass puppies hidden away in a drawer. Now all the puppies have a new space to play—on the table top.

I found a fiddle leaf fig at Boxwoods and added it to the center of the table. The fig loves the indirect light and has grown like crazy.

Take a closer look. More is more and less is a bore … and I might need more dogs!

I might need a few more dogs on the table.

Playful puppies create the base of the table.

  2. Your dog table is awesome! Even better you don’t have to clean up after these puppies.

Enjoyed your lovely village last Saturday with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter touring the
cottages, which were greatly decorated, interesting people at lunch at Cornucopia, and fun shopping, especially at Francie Hargrove’s.

Then all too soon reality hit HOT and hard, back at home in the stifling heat and pesky gnats!

Can’t wait until October to get back to your haven.

    I really enjoy your posts,
