When is a door not simply a door—when it is the welcoming element of your home. We found the lovely door that graced my Atlanta home’s kitchen entrance at Boxwoods in Atlanta. It was the perfect solution, adding a little architectural interest to a boring kitchen entrance. As soon as I saw the featured flower was a Scottish thistle, I knew it would be perfect for my home—I do have a son named Alastair with cousins named Ian, McKenzie and Trevor.
I was so sad when I was told it the door would not fit in my new office addition. I called Randy Korando of Boxwoods to tell him I had several things that I couldn’t use in the new area—and he immediately ask about ‘The’ door. He had a client who needed an antique door and had been looking at the door when I bought it. She was excited to get a second chance at the Thistle door and purchased it immediately.
Here is a look at the door and its ongoing story.
