Decorating in a weekend–what a wonderful concept! Remember that episode of Million Dollar Decorators when Kathryn Ireland decorated a friend’s country house in England in a weekend—well, the same thing happened here in Cashiers.
When the drapery fabric I chose for three normal size windows was $10,000 for the fabric alone I sent out an S.O.S. to the ever creative Keven Hawkins. HELP!
In a weekend, Keven put the whole room together from fabulous finds he had collected and things I had already purchased and stored in my ‘storage unit’ downstairs. He even had the bolts of Rose Cumming fabric I needed to pull the whole room together.
We reupholstered three chairs, stuffed sofa cushions, made pillows and ordered a rug that anchored the whole room. Keven even managed to find the perfect accessories—and you know I love my accessories.
The installation was on Monday! I was pushed right out of my comfort zone (that can be a good thing) and I love every inch of my new room! I think I see an aqua theme going on in the whole house.
If you need a room finished in a weekend you now know who to call!
P.S. Draperies are coming soon—same fabric.

I do hope you will post more photos when your panels are up. I find custom drapery panels really complete a space. Your fabric selection is perfect. Who would want to leave such inviting room? I love it when a room looks like it has evolved thru time. Gathering the right pieces to achieve such a look takes a good eye. Well done Lissy and Kevin!
P.S. Great tray -I collect back tole trays myself.
Lissy, I am building a home up at Lake Burton. I love the lines of the fireplace surround and was wondering what company you purchased it from. Thanks!Barbara
