House Crush N° 34

Dutch colonial house crush
House crushing!

This sweet little Dutch Colonial is a remodel done right. The home sits close to the road on a small quiet side street in Atlanta.

The creamy white paint and working black shutters give the home a warm, welcoming glow. Boxwood, holly, cypress and huge magnolias anchor the older home into the new landscaping.

I spy a few large roses enclosed by yet another box hedge. I wonder what color the roses are … I might need to revisit this lovely site in the spring.

The straight lines of the hedges work wonderfully with the curves of the roof and the rounded boxwood at the entry from the street and near the front door. Rustic granite stones used for curbing separate the home from the street and create a sense of age and charm.

All this lovely needs for spring is hundreds of tulips planted among the boxwood and roses!

I love the symmetrical front entry.

The large gate gives much needed privacy to the back garden.
