Construction Update or Apple to the Rescue!

construction update, new porch
New addition looking beautiful—love the Chinese Chippendale rail

WThis construction update today was the most challenging of my blog career—LOL!  Apple gets the credit for this post. Thank you to Dan in Arizona, Erica in New Mexico and Danielle in Tennessee. Yes, it took three Apple experts and almost seven hours with Apple Care to solve the problem! Mr. P. and I had two phones, my laptop and a shared screen with Apple for most of the day. Thank goodness we weren’t on FaceTime as we were in PJs and taking turns eating, typing, and taking the puppies out. (It takes two or more people when these things happen.)

Note to self and others, ALWAYS buy Apple Care. Go Apple!

Construction updates happen on laptops, too. It seems that all the passwords—the keychain password and the Apple ID password (and everything else I own) were trapped in the Cloud. They all took an early Labor Day vacation. I hate it when that happens. The Cloud vacation had to be grounded, so I could post today. Do Clouds drink? I think they party a lot up there. My editor tells me I need to read The Marvelous Clouds: Toward a Philosophy of Elemental Media by John Durham Peters. I don’t think so!

Construction is going great up here in the mountains. We have decks, walls, paneling, tile, electricity and water! The new cedar shake roof is beyond words—we decided to re-roof the entire house. The pickwick paneling is lovely and the new Gothic stone fireplace is just the most beautiful thing ever! Mr. P’s new rustic porch includes poplar bark, barn wood and a massive stone fireplace—with a TV connection. His grill kitchen has a huge window that opens out 90°. He is a man of few requests, but the rustic porch, grill area and massive window bar were his must-haves.

Take a look at what a ‘Party in The Cloud’ provided for us today—a construction update!
