Mile High Apple Pie—Happy Father’s Day!

ingredients for apple pie
Ready for the pie

WThere is only one thing Mr. P wants for Father’s Day, and that is apple pie. I tried many recipes to find just the right ratio of apples to crust and this is the winner—Mile High Apple Pie by Martha Stewart. You can find the recipe in her book Pies and Tarts. It’s a real show stopper and the taste is the perfect combination of sweet and tart with crisp Granny Smith apples. I customize this apple delight and use the crumble topping from another one of Martha’s famous dessert recipes instead of the pastry topping—and it even has oatmeal making it a healthy choice, LOL.

Now if I could just get the pie to jump in the pie pan while I work … get in there pie! Have a wonderful Father’s Day!
