A cordial Entry—Black Forest style

While visiting a friend’s farm in Georgia, I could not resist taking a picture of the arrangement in this Entry Hall. Sorry for the iPhone picture—no camera was available at the time. This magnificent Black Forest mirror is surrounded by cream-ware and brown transfer-ware and is topped by a carved deer head. Sconces “branch” off the sides of the mirror and hold candles that add a soft glow to the entry when in use. I love how brackets and plates are contained by the molding. The table under the mirror was built by the homeowner to compliment the mirror. A truly creative mind lives here.

Black Forest at its Best

Thank you for creating such an inviting Entry.
