Tulips, White Picket and Boxwood

This courtyard entry happens to belong to me. It is very simple in design and easy to maintain. There are four rectangles enclosed with picket fencing and joined with gravel paths. The main design was done by Ansley Browning—now in Winston-Salem, N.C.. The boxwood and sweet box are used as edging—filled with ferns, irises and anemones. The triple Topiaries were added by Dan Cleveland of Boxwoods—who also does the planters twice a year. I am always adding to the plethora of planters. I can only take credit for watering, planters and gravel shuffling.

Large Metal Tulips mark the Entry Gate
The Antique bench is backed by Azaleas and Surrounded by Planters.
Large Potted Boxwood surrounded by Containers of Annuals
The Shutter Screen gives Privacy without total Enclosure.
Looking back at the Courtyard—Antique urn is centered on the Front Door
Moon Bridge over creek—gravel path, hostas, ferns and hydrangeas.

I hope you enjoyed the Courtyard Garden—another post soon.

  1. This is a gorgeous, gorgeous garden, LIssy! Is it here in Atlanta, or in NC? If it’s here can I come see it in person sometime??
