Bring a little drama into your house the easy way—trim your plants. My leggy overgrown purple smoke bushes were as tall as my house and needed a quick trim. As they hit the ground I realized I had a dramatic arrangement just begging to go in the house. I was hosting a little cocktail party, and I knew these trimmings would look great in my living room. Try it! Just gather the gnarliest twigs and branches—they are the most interesting. Cut a few fillers if you need them and fill a large vase with the trimmings—go for it! Have a great weekend.
